Lodge ribeye is excellent! You can get it with all the works. Onion, green pepper, red pepper, and mushrooms. Amazing. Waitress is great. Caribbean jerk is really good. I would come back here more often when I visit. Wish they had this in Colorado.

We were travelling and looking for something decent to eat and relax for a bit. We chose Grizzlys because we had three big trucks with trailers hooked to them and Grizzlys is in a mall parking lot. It was definitely worth searching for. Our waitress was great and the food was delicious. We started with the artichoke dip which was amazing and our waitress brought us out some complimentary bread with oil and a side of cinnamon sugar butter which was delish. My husband and I had the half rack of sweet and smoky ribs the sauce was great and there was plenty of meat on them and not lots of fat. 2 others with us had the roasted chicken which looked very delicious and they explained was very good. Our waitress was super sweet I didn't catch her name it was around 9pm she was short with blonde hair. Would definitely stop here again!

The first thing that hits you as soon as you walk in is the amazing smell of rotisserie chicken! You can also see the rotisserie when you walk in. The decor is country/back woods cute. We were seated in a comfortable booth and our waiter told us about the specials. I ordered a crock (equivalent to 3 cups) of cream of chicken with wild rice soup, as well as a side salad. My friend had a cranberry walnut salad. The servings were huge!! The food also was really tasty and came with warm bread. The ranch dressing on my salad was homemade. Our waiter was pretty awesome too! Despite being very friendly and attentive, at the end of our meal he apologized to us in case our meal felt rushed (it didn't). We used a $5 off $25 Yelp check in offer and with tip the total for two people was only $25. I would definitely return here on my next trip to Eau Claire!

We had a fabulous dinner last night as seen in the picture... Bourbon glazed salmon & the most fantastic sweet potatoes I've ever had. I have no idea what they do to them so delicious but I would go back just for these! Oh yes, and the Moscow mules weren't bad either, served in awesome copper mugs . What was really great about the whole evening where the bartenders and the wait staff. We had a great evening there, love the atmosphere. And I do know from past experience their fire roasted chicken is like none other! You can buy a whole chicken and take it home, it makes an amazing meal super simple and the leftovers are even better. Definitely put this place on your "must try restaurants" list.

Great wood fire wings! Waitress wasn't as knowledgeable as could be, but meal was good.

Great food, reasonable prices, good service. Took the wife their on a date and we were both pleased overall with the service.

The prime rib was very good. The appetizer platter was good as well. The only drawback was having to wait for my silverware after my steak came as the only thing on the table was the bread knife and a spoon which will not cut it with prime rib. They were very busy and when I asked I got what I needed. I would come back.

I was visiting the area from Chicago and I had dinner here last weekend with my Mom, Cousin, & Aunt. Overall our food was decent so that is why the three stars plus upon checking in on yelp we got a discount (LOVE when that happens!!!), I had to deduct for some other reasons. For starters - Saturday night, dinner rush = long wait...and that is the norm for all restaurants everywhere, especially situated near a mall. They said the wait would be an hour when we got there, I thought that was played up a bit. I didn't keep track but it was definitely closer to an hour than say, 15 minutes. While waiting to be seated you can see and smell the chickens being cooked - this is probably not the best when you go to dinner already under the weather and sick so breathing that stuff in didn't help much, though it did smell pretty good! Given this was Saturday night... there was a Friday & Saturday Prime Rib Special. I believe three of the four of us were looking to having that for dinner. So we told our server our orders but also asked...you have prime rib still, right? This was one of those situations where it was indeed a "special" not just something on the menu the restaurant designed as the night's special. Our server (I can't remember his name) told us as far as he knows... they still have it. Minutes later he came walking back to our table with menus apologizing but they are out of the prime rib. Bummer. Nothing like waiting forever, figuring out what you want to eat to learn they are out of it AFTER you've already ordered it. Hello people....communicate. We got bread with oil to dip in along with an appetizer - cheese curds. I"m not sure if these even qualify as "Cheese Curds" given they are huge, some didn't even have cheese in them, some had minimal cheese - maybe they were left in the fryer too long but they were mostly empty. Kinda good, but nothing I'd ever go there and order again. As for the rest of my meal...and everyone else's, it was decent. We enjoyed ourselves so that's all that matters...despite being out of prime rib.

Stopped here for dinner on a road trip after seeing the Yelp reviews and seeing it was close to the highway. It did not disappoint! The cheese curds were excellent (used my Yelp coupon and got them free) I had the rotisserie chicken sandwich and it was "okay" but I was so full after the bread, cheese curds, and Wisconsin beer that I didn't mind. Prices were reasonable and service was fast, I had my appetizer out before the bread ran out, and the entrees before the cheese curds were out. Two points of improvement, the ranch, coming from Illinois I'm used to a thick creamy ranch, theirs was thin and watery. Also, our beers didn't come from the bar until our entrees arrived even though we ordered drinks when we first sat down.

I found this restaurant on Yelp (of course) while searching for a restaurant during a long road trip. We had been delayed due to severe storms and were desperate for good food (and to get back on the road). Grizzlys was just what we needed. It was comfort food without the guilt. Very good. The service was fantastic and prompt. Of course we all tried variations of the wood fired grill (it's as good as advertised) and I enjoyed the soup du jour. While I will likely never return to this part again, I will highly recommend this stop to others.

Excellent food for an excellent price! Service was also fantastic. Went for lunch with my sis, who had the most amazing looking bloody mary ever (beef stick, cheese, etc). She said it was good! I had a great margarita. Cheese curds were fantastic, and huge! You also get a loaf of bread as a free starter. Sis had the fajita salad, which she loved, but the portions are HUGE! She took half back to the hotel for my mom. I had a burger and fries, which were great. Decor was kind of fun, log cabin style. Again, server was very attentive but not obnoxious. When you come in, they have BEAUTIFUL, tempting chickens cooking on a rotisserie over a wood fire. Might annoy the vegetarians.

Recently had a fine Friday night meal at Grizzly's. Started off with a tasty Porter beer for my husband and a Moscow Mule cocktail for me. Bartender said he was not sure about making my drink, but it was spot on! I had a salad made with their phenomenal wood fired chicken and my husband had a Club sandwich with veggies as the side. Both the food and the service was quite good.

Family decided to try out this place for lunch, very happy with total experience. We had maple bacon burgers, shrimp and pasta. Everything was outstanding. The smell of the chicken over the open flame made me wish I had ordered it but my burger it the spot. Let me add that the cheese curds were the best ever, huge and tasty! We were quickly seated and the restaurant was spotless. It was clean and the décor only added to the comfort level. The waiter was friendly and made a few suggestions. This is one of the few times that I could try everything on the menu but we will continue to visit to try different items. Drinks - Glasses were 50% ice; 50% juice Appetizers - Fried cheese curds are the best...and huge! Food - Every dish we had was outstanding Overall - We will stop by again

From Southern California. We like trying local or restaurants not found in Cali. Grizzly' is a gem, the staff was super friendly, the waitress informed us the appetizer's where $5 because the football game was on. Awesome is the word for the onion rings, crispy and oh so tasty, very tasty. The Texas egg rolls, were bursting with flavor, very yummy. My Bloody Mary was just as yummy. My steak was cooked to perfection and I mean perfection. Will be going back before we head out.

Really good rotisserie chicken, avocado & bacon sandwich!!! Terrific chicken nachos as appetizer! Beef brisket was okay.,,.bbq sauce definitely from a bottle - very generic taste :(

This place was amazing! I've never been to a wood fired grill and the chicken here was great! We walked in and you could see the chicken cooking and that was a very cool experience. We were seated very quickly and our waitress was very nice even though we took a long time to actually order our food. It was homecoming for the college in the area and she offered us the option of the hangover burger which was very wise of her. I got the fajita and I expected it to be made already for me but you were able to make the fajitas yourself which was very nice. It also wasn't a place that would be out of someone's budget. I would definitely come back here when I have the chance!

Good atmosphere. Place smelled great when we first walked in. They have the chicken cooking in the wood oven when you first walk in. Looked good so I decided to order the ribs and chicken combo. Entree came with a soup or salad. I had the chili which had good flavors. You get a potato so I tried the cheesy hash browns which were awesome. The chicken and ribs were average. Chicken was a little dry and ribs were fatty. I would go back but will probably try something else. Server was nice and attentive. Prices were reasonable.

The rotisserie chicken was amazing! From the moment we walked in and saw the chicken spinning over the fire, we knew that's what we were going to order. We tried 2 different sandwiches- the spicy chicken sandwich and the honey basil chicken sandwich. Both were excellent, but I'd have to say the spicy one was better. We also had 2 toddlers with us that had been trapped in a car for 5 hours. The staff dealt with my children very well and we all had a great time! The kids meals were served on frisbees, so they even got a souvenir. If I'm ever back in this area, I'd go again!

Great atmosphere! So happy they have a grizzlys here in eau claire when I moved from la crosse. Staff is friendly and provides great service. Just went last weekend and we had stuffed mushrooms which were delicious and filling. A pair of sandwiches and a two half chickens for the group. Great food at an affordable price!

Great atmosphere and an even greater smell! As soon as you walk in the woodfire aroma hits you. And the food delivers too. Try the flatbread and cheese curds for appetizers. They have a wide drink selection and a never ending number of choices for entrees. Their fries are also top notch. Overall very pleased with the restaurant

Smokey goodness! When you walk in it smelled like a bbq place should. Stopped in for lunch and tried the curds and a couple of burgers and it was all pretty good. Would have loved to have tried it for dinner and ordered up chicken or ribs...maybe next time.

The smell draws you in, the ribs keep you planted. Grizzly's, you've done a very nice job here. That's not to say you are the next Bill Gates of smoked meats, but you are making some great headway. We walked in to a great smell of smoke outside and an even better one in. Somehow this fantastic stuff will fill your nostrils but not choke you out, be visible, or be irritating in any way other than your date might say you smell like a campfire later that night (but she would be wrong, you smell like smoky meat which is manly and turning her on). The atmosphere is cabin-y, but not "should I sit on that" and "what are those cob-webs" cabin-y. More like well appointed, very up-kept, modern lodge cabin-y. We started with the 50% off Yelp bonus check in offer on an appetizer, so we decided to go full-size on an order of potato skins. To be honest, the appetizer selection was not very, ummmm.... appetiz..... wide, so that is just where we landed. It was not a bad choice as they came with a nice sweet dipping sauce, bacon, cheese, and were overall tasty and plenty filling for 2. They probably could have been a meal if we weren't in hungry on-the-road mode. Beers arrived quickly as well from our friendly and helpful waitress. There is a decent selection here. I'd say fantastic if you are comparing to a dive, but average with a surprise or two if you are comparing to a standard bar. There was some confusion on pint size vs the snifter that arrived for our particular beer, but that was no bother. After the scent that was filling my nostrils set in I had to go for the full slab of ribs and sweet potato fries. The staff were nice enough to split the ribs 50/50 between the two flavors. I picked original BBQ and mango habanero. Flavor wise the BBQ were right on with a bit of sweetness and a bit of smoke. The mango habanero were good, but I didn't get much sweetness and the habanero built up to exactly a tolerable level by the time I was done with that half. The flavor on those was mostly just spice. The ribs had a good texture - they were just fall off the bone but not fall apart before you can get them to your mouth. There was a tiny bit of silver skin on one end, but nothing that wasn't made quick work of by my steak knife. The coleslaw was good and the sweet potato fries were tasty too. They came with the same sweet dipping sauce which didn't add as much flavor as a brown sugar glaze would, but was still tasty anyway. I was provided a side of red wine vinegar upon asking for vinegar. That didn't add much to the sweet potato flavor, so I mostly let it be (maybe that trend hasn't hit up here yet, but it's definitely not something everyone likes). A friend ordered 2 sandwiches because he is a beast. The waitress was a bit surprised, but we all had a laugh about it. He had the BBQ Beef Brisket and the Carolina Pulled Pork. He thought the brisket was a bit dry, but the pulled pork was fantastic. I only tried a bit of meat off each and I thought they were both in the range of A-OK to great, but I'm not sure if the constant scent in the air was just adding to the flavor (OK in my book). If I'm back in Eau Claire I'd like to try the rotisserie chicken. My already-slightly sore from driving lower back was not helped by the appropriate looking, but slightly uncomfortable booth-back. My back is not in a good place sometimes though, so YMMV for the better. Easy access from the highway helped make this a good pick. That said, this is really a 3.5 star review with a bump for location and (appropriate) atmosphere. Keep up the good smoking Grizzly's and tidy up a couple of things here and there and you've got yourself a gem.

This place was sub par. I had the Lodge Ribeye and it was not one of the best ribeyes I've had. In fact it was on the low end. I also noticed that my ribeye had a lot of fat. A good quarter of the steak was fat. The taste wasn't that great either. I also had the cheesy hash brown in addition to the house salad. Again there are better places to go for steak. Try Johnny's Italian Steak House. One of the best steak places in town.

  • Mike T.

Rotisserie chicken, bacon, avocado sandwich was tender and flavorful as was the brisket sandwich which was nicely accented with sauce not overpowered by it. The cheesy hash towns were not too cheesy and very tasty. Wings were a touch over cooked on this visit but extremely flavorful. Place was clean and service friendly but perhaps a tad slow, overall I definitely recommend this place.

  • Dave G.

Chicken was awesome! Some of the best rotisserie I've had! The chili was ok, beer select needs an improvement, and side of sweet potatoes were decent. Service was good and it was fairly busy for a Tuesday night. Chicken-outstanding.

My wife and I were there over the weekend. The first thing you see and smell are their rotisserie chickens turning over a wood fire. I'd go there for just that! Their build your own bloody mary is awesome. It's a-la-cart, but worth it. I added jalapeno stuffed olives, pepper jack cheese, grilled jumbo shrimp, and Absolut Peppar vodka. It came with a pickle and beef stick. We also enjoyed their Applewood Bacon & Fajita Chicken Salad. They have a full service bar with friendly bartenders and can handle classic cocktail requests unlike Double Days Sports Bar & Grill.

Friday night fish fry Review: Based off of reviews we read on a different site, we decided to check out the Fri fish special @ the Eau claire Grizzly's. We wont go back for fish there again. I had the 3 pc fish dinner 2 fried, one baked so I could try both. The baked nub that apparently counted as a serving, was about 2 inches long & way over cooked. Tasted like it sat in a warmer of hot water before serving. The fried fish wasnt much better. Outer later of batter was over cooked and the middle was soggy. The oil they fried in obviously way too hot as it burned the outside & barely cooked the center. The side salad was the best part of the meal. The server was poor. Continuously brought out incorrect drinks & drink refills. He forgot to put in the order for my son's fries. We were served food & not given silverware. Had to flag down a hostess for that. (Which also happened lat time we ate here) Chicken wings came out on a fajita skillet with the celery on the skillet, making it warm & inedible. All of the food we received was over cooked except my daughter's burger. That was perfect. I would eat here again for their burgers & fire rotisserie chicken as that is clearly their specialty & just cross our fingers next time for a better server.

Pretty standard rendition of the TGI-Friday/Applebee mode, with a specialty in their fire-roasted chicken. Nothing special, but no reason not to go if you want a steak and a beer. I've also tried the salmon, which was cooked properly. That said -- It's a chain-like atmosphere, and I have fairly low expectations.

We had a mixed experience. It was a Friday night, and the place was busy, a fact that attests to the quality of the food. My wife had the fish special, and I had the smaller portion of the walleye fillet. Each was done right. The problems surround the service. Our server was nice enough, but she was so busy that her attention was split among the customers she was serving. First, we were told that a fresh batch of bread had been put in the oven and that we would soon be served a warm loaf. Well, the bread never came. When we mentioned that to the server later, her response was that she saw that our meals had been served so she assumed that we wouldn't want bread. Now, we didn't need the bread, but I expect to be asked whether I want something. It is not the server's job to assume. Next, my wife ordered cheesy hash browns, but, when her order came, the plate was filled with french fries. When the server was made aware of this error, she did bring my wife an order of cheesy hash browns. These are small annoyances, but they do leave an impression.

Got the beef brisket sandwich. Meat was dry and chewy which lead to the sandwich being dry and bland. They claimed to have smoked the meat but that meat was not smoked, no way. Fries were frozen and not fresh. They were undercooked which led to being soggy. Overall food was awful. Servers were very friendly and attentive, though. Good atmosphere.

Went here with family around lunch time on a Saturday. It wasn't very busy when we arrived but as soon as our appetizer arrived, there was a line out the door. The food came in what I deem "mid-western" portions (i.e. rather large). The burgers were definitely enough for two meals (my husband managed to finish his). We ordered the cheese curds as an appetizer and they were pretty greasy and gooey - exactly how cheese curds should be. I ordered the half-rack ribs and ended up taking half of it and my potato side home. They do serve complimentary bread with honey butter while you're waiting for your food - something to keep in mind if you are watching your waistline! As for the service, the waitress accommodated our request for a table as opposed to a booth. We constantly had filled water and soda glasses. One gripe is they only have s'mores as a desert. For $8, we felt that we could duplicate the experience at home for a lot less.

Possibly the worst brisket ever served. After asking how the brisket was, and being told that it was quite good, I had high expectations. What was served to me was dry, tasteless, and hidden under roughly a pound of barbecue sauce. After sending it back I received a different portion of the exact same thing. The manager explained to me that the cut that I recieved was possibly a couple days old. I was shocked to hear that it actually came out of a smoker. It tasted like it came out of the freezer and was microwaved to order. The service was allright, but I would never go back to a place that serves 3 day old brisket for 15 dollars. It is just wrong.

First family trip to Eau Claire and saw this place on Yelp. Looked like the ratings where pretty good. We tried the cheese curds as recommended and they were very good. I ordered the half chicken which was excellent. My wife ordered a burger which was extremely dry. Would not order that again. She also ordered a drink which after 15 minutes if waiting we said forget it and just bring the check. Would have given more stars if the burger was better and the drink service faster.

The smell of the wood fired grill...Expect to take that smell with you! Enjoyed several of the wood fired options. They have several dishes that use the rotisserie chicken. The destination event is the S mores desert. They bring it to the table with a little charcoal fire so that you can roast your marshmallows at the table. Really cool!

Burger Tuesday...buy one get one free. Burgers cooked on a wood fire grill. You can taste the difference. Their cheese curds are excellent. Best in Eau Claire that I've found. Affiliated with Milwaukee Burger Company, so they have the same delicious cheese curds. Very yummy Titanic drinks (I like the Long Island or the Alaskan teas). Their spit roasted chicken is also VERY good!

Best nachos I've ever had, and I used to run a blog about the best local nachos! Get them with rotisserie chicken. Everything else we've had has been good too.

My husband and I were in town to visit family and friends. Our friends told us they had heard good reviews about the food so we decided to check it out. I'm so happy we did!!! The food was amazing!!! The service was also fantastic, the servers were so nice and so happy to hear we were enjoying everything. I had the ribs and chicken and I can't wait to have them again!! I wish we would of saved room for dessert but we were stuffed. Needless to say I can't wait until we're in town again to visit and enjoy another great meal!

Everything about our visit here was great. The deep fried cheese curds were yummy; the bloody Mary was delish; our rotisserie sandwiches were scrumptious (we tried both!) as was the brisket and cheesesteak sandwiches. The waitress was very accommodating. Would highly recommend this restaurant!

Went here for me and my boyfriends 4 year anniversary because we couldn't afford a fancy restaurant but am SO GLAD we went here! best steak I've EVER had. My parents never wanted to go here when I was little and even yet today because at the time we ate here years ago they said they were too expensive for the amount & quality of the food, but this restaurant has definitely turned itself around!! Left very full & happy.

  • Ashlie W.

We love going here for a good steak and beer. They have quite a few on tap as well as great "titanic" teas, customized long islands. Their cheese curds are big, cruncy, and melt in your mouth. The bourbon sirloin is excellent, the sauce has just enough sweetness and the steak is always cooked to order. They have a big room that's great for groups, as well as a fireplace and a bar. When you walk into the restaurant, there is a huge spit with meat roasting away! Makes your mouth water as soon as you walk in!

  • J W.

Good albeit short happy hour. 3.50 house wines and dollar off drafts. The much touted wood oven rotisserie chicken which was voted best in the Chippewa Valley was actually pretty good and perfectly cooked. Prices were reasonable. If you ever find yourself near the Eu Claire mall trying to decide between appleby's, olive garden, and this place, go ahead and give it a shot. Show up for happy hour, order the wood oven chicken and you probably won't be amazed, but you also won't spend too much money and you'll have a decent meal.

Pulled off from a long road trip thinking we'd get a solid american menu meal. We were incrediblyimpressed!!! Cheese curds were crazy good!!! Do it! Im a rack of rib snob. Did mango habenero and loved it. Daughter had salmon loved it. Very very good!!!!

I'd eat here again for sure. The stuffed Mushrooms were huge and very tasty. The staff was friendly. The log cabin feel was nice. They specialize in fire roasted everything here so the restaurant has a nice smoked smell that is sure to get your taste buds ready for some food.
